Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has once again introduced its popular sport motorcycles, the CBR650R and CB650R, to the Indian market. The company had teased the launch a day before, and now, these bikes are ready to make their mark.
The starting ex-showroom price for the CB650R is ₹9.20 lakh, while the CBR650R is priced at ₹9.99 lakh. Both bikes are powered by the same 649cc engine, generating 95hp and 63Nm of torque. Interestingly, the same engine is used in European models as well.
Key Features & Enhancements
Honda has slightly reduced the power output in these new models to offer better fuel efficiency, without compromising on performance. The design of the bikes has also been updated to meet the 2025 model standards.

Both motorcycles come with a 5-inch TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to connect with Honda’s RoadSync app. Once connected, riders can access important notifications like phone calls, messages, and signal alerts. The bikes are available in two color options: Honda Red and Muted Matte Black.
Competition in the Indian Market
In terms of competition, the CB650R, priced at ₹9.20 lakh, will directly compete with the Triumph Trident 660, which is priced at ₹8.10 lakh. On the other hand, the CBR650R will also rival the more powerful Kawasaki Z900, which is priced at ₹9.38 lakh. Honda has also mentioned that customers who pre-booked the NX500 will start receiving deliveries from this month.
