SBI Clerk Recruitment 2025: 6,589 Vacancies Announced

State Bank of India has announced recruitment for 6,589 clerk posts across India. Graduates and final-year students are eligible to apply online before August 26, 2025.

The State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest public sector bank, has released its much-awaited Clerk Recruitment Notification 2025. This year, the bank is inviting applications for a total of 6,589 Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) posts across its branches in India.
Out of the total vacancies, 5,180 are regular posts, while 1,409 are backlog posts. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the online mode on or before August 26, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Final-year students are also eligible to apply, provided they pass their graduation by December 31, 2025.
The age limit is set between 20 and 28 years as of April 1, 2025. Applicants must be born between April 2, 1997, and April 1, 2005. Relaxations in the upper age limit will apply: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and up to 15 years for PwBD candidates.
Application Fee
Applicants belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories must pay an application fee of ₹750. However, SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and DXS candidates are exempted from paying any fee.
Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will be entitled to a starting salary ranging between ₹24,050 and ₹64,480 per month, along with allowances and other benefits as per SBI norms.
Selection Process
The recruitment process involves three stages:
- Preliminary Examination – Objective type test with 100 questions for 100 marks, to be completed in 1 hour.
- Main Examination – Objective test with 200 questions carrying 200 marks, conducted over 2 hours 40 minutes.
- Local Language Proficiency Test – Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the local language of the state they apply for.
Both prelims and mains exams will have negative marking, with 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.
