Bengaluru Constable Accused of Harassment as Wife Files FIR

Bengaluru : A police constable from Bengaluru has been booked under allegations of harassment following a complaint filed by his wife, Rekha. The FIR was registered at High Grounds Police Station against constable Manoj S, currently serving at Indiranagar police station, along with other accused individuals.

According to the complaint, Rekha had previously lost her husband in an accident. During court proceedings related to the case, she met constable Manoj, and their acquaintance turned into a romantic relationship. In 2024, the two got married in Nanjangud and later registered their marriage at the Sub-Registrar’s office in Vyalikaval. They began residing in a police quarters in Vasanth Nagar.

However, soon after, Rekha alleged that Manoj started harassing her mentally and physically over dowry. He reportedly taunted her about her previous marriage and two daughters, stating that he could have received dowry had he married someone else. Distressed by the abuse, Rekha filed a complaint against her husband and others involved.

Following the FIR, the High Grounds Police issued a notice to constable Manoj, summoning him for further investigation into the matter.
