Bengaluru: A 24-year-old college student was sexually assaulted inside a taxi by two unidentified men on Monday morning. The incident occurred near Kammanahalli under the Banasawadi police jurisdiction, and the police are yet to arrest the suspects. The attack took place between 2:00 and 3:00 AM, according to the police.
The Girl had booked a cab from Chikkamma Layout in Kammanahalli to Whitefield. As she entered the vehicle and closed the door, two unknown men attempted to forcefully enter through the rear seat. Shocked by this, she immediately got out of the cab and started running towards her home.
One of the attackers chased after her, grabbing her by the neck and making inappropriate advances, while the cab driver struggled with the second assailant. The woman’s screams were heard by nearby residents, who rushed to her aid. The suspects fled the scene, as reported by the police.

Based on the woman’s complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 74 (outraging a woman’s modesty) and 75 (sexual harassment) of the IPC. According to the victim’s statement, the attackers were believed to be in their 20s or 30s. Since there are no CCTV cameras in the area where the incident occurred, police are checking footage from nearby locations to gather further evidence.
