Bengaluru Woman Dies After Slipping While Boarding Moving BMTC Bus

A tragic incident in Bengaluru claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman who slipped while attempting to board a moving BMTC bus. The accident was caught on CCTV near Deve Gowda Petrol Bunk Junction.

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a young woman lost her life after slipping while attempting to board a moving BMTC bus in Bengaluru.

The accident occurred near the Deve Gowda Petrol Pump Junction in Padmanabhanagar, where the entire incident was captured on CCTV. According to reports, the woman attempted to board a moving Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus but lost her balance and fell. Unfortunately, the rear wheels of the bus ran over her, leading to her immediate death. The incident took place on Wednesday under the jurisdiction of the Banashankari Traffic Police Station.

Police sources have identified the deceased as Monika, a 20-year-old resident of Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. She had been living in the Katriguppe area of Bengaluru and was employed at a private company in Bommanahalli.

According to preliminary reports, the accident happened around 8 AM near the Chinnamma Junction, close to the petrol pump. Monika was reportedly trying to catch a BMTC bus, which had already started moving as the traffic signal turned green. In an attempt to board, she ran towards the bus but lost her footing and fell under it. The rear wheels of the bus ran over her, resulting in fatal injuries on the spot.

Banashankari traffic police arrived at the scene, conducted an inspection, and registered a case. Legal proceedings are underway to determine further action in the matter.
