Rotary Bangalore Gulmohar and RMCH Partner to Enhance Healthcare Access Across Karnataka
Rotary Bangalore Gulmohar and Ramaiah Medical College Hospital (RMCH) inks MoU to offer comprehensive healthcare to masses across Karnataka

Bengaluru, January 18, 2025: Rotary Bangalore Gulmohar (RBG) has teamed up with Ramaiah Medical College Hospital (RMCH) through a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bring essential healthcare services to the most vulnerable groups in Karnataka, including BPL cardholders, senior citizens, and those from underprivileged backgrounds.
The collaboration, which may be extended beyond the initial two years, will focus on providing free or subsidized medical care, check-ups, and treatments throughout the state.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Ramesh D, Associate Dean of RMCH, and Rtn Dr. Murali Krishnan, Charter President of Rotary Bangalore Gulmohar, in Bengaluru. This partnership aims to make healthcare more accessible to communities in need, with a vision of improving the lives of many people across Karnataka.
“This collaboration with Rotary Bangalore Gulmohar aligns with our commitment to serving the community,” said Dr. Ramesh D. “Through this partnership, we are expanding our outreach, ensuring that underprivileged individuals and senior citizens receive the healthcare services they deserve.”
Rtn Dr. Murali Krishnan expressed gratitude for RMCH’s involvement, highlighting that this collaboration will enhance RBG’s healthcare efforts. “While we’ve been providing healthcare to the community in a limited way, this partnership will allow us to significantly scale our initiatives and bring comprehensive care to even more people in need.”
Dr. Sriram Ramalingam, Medical Director at Rotary Bangalore Gulmohar, shared the campaign’s initial focus. “Our healthcare efforts will begin in Tiptur, Turuvekere, Bellary, urban and rural Bengaluru, and Gadag, with plans to expand to other regions. We aim to benefit at least 2,500 people by the end of the year.”
The partnership will provide a variety of medical services, including consultations, diagnostic tests, hospitalization, and follow-up care at discounted or free rates for referred patients. Special provisions include free routine investigations, a 25% to 50% discount on specialized tests, and waived registration and re-visit charges. Inpatient care will include free bed charges and meals during hospital stays.
Additionally, the MoU ensures that senior citizens in old age homes will receive regular free check-ups. Psychological evaluations will also be available for those in need, and free medical camps will be organized in both urban and rural areas.
Mr. Pradeep M. Kulkarni, President of Rotary Bangalore Gulmohar, emphasized the long-standing efforts of the organization in providing health services such as breast cancer screenings, cataract surgeries, and eye check-ups. “This partnership with RMCH will help us extend our reach and make a greater impact in the lives of those who need it most,” he said.
This collaboration marks an exciting new chapter in making healthcare more equitable and accessible across Karnataka, one step at a time.
