A tragic road accident in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district claimed the lives of seven people on Sunday afternoon. The collision, which occurred near Dedadar village, involved a Swift Dzire car and a Tata Harrier SUV.

According to police reports, the vehicles crashed around 3:30 PM, leading to a massive fire. The Swift Dzire was completely engulfed in flames within minutes, trapping all the passengers inside. Despite desperate efforts from locals to rescue them, all seven occupants of the car were burnt alive.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrifying, with thick smoke rising and cries for help echoing on the busy highway. The impact was so severe that the vehicles burst into flames almost immediately after the collision.

Police inspector P.B. Jadeja from Wadhwan station confirmed that while all seven people in the Swift Dzire perished, three passengers in the Tata Harrier managed to escape with minor injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The accident caused a massive traffic jam on the highway, with vehicles stranded for over an hour. Authorities suspect that overspeeding and loss of control might have led to the head-on collision.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, while the bodies of the victims have been sent for post-mortem examination. The tragedy has left the local community in deep shock and grief.
