In a recent speech during his visit to Gujarat, Shah emphasized the cultural importance of the Maha Kumbh, urging everyone to partake in the festival, which occurs only once every 144 years.
“The Kumbh is a symbol of unity and harmony, transcending caste, creed, and religion. No event in the world promotes unity more than Maha Kumbh,” he said, inviting the youth of Gujarat to experience the spiritual grandeur of the Kumbh, which he has visited nine times himself.
Simultaneously, the Virat Sanatan Dharma Sansad will take place at the Shanti Seva Camp in Sector 17, led by spiritual leader Devkinandan Thakur. The gathering will feature Shankaracharyas, heads of 13 Akharas, and numerous sadhus and saints, all coming together to foster unity within the Sanatan Dharma community.
The Maha Kumbh, one of the largest Hindu festivals, began on January 13 with the ‘Pavitra Snan’ and saw its second day celebrations on Makar Sankranti. The event will conclude on February 26 with Maha Shivratri. Key bathing dates remaining include January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), February 3 (Basant Panchami), February 12 (Magh Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivratri).
Despite the cold winter, millions of devotees have visited the Triveni Sangam to observe this sacred tradition. The administration has taken extensive measures to maintain order while honoring the customs of Sanatan Dharma.
As of now, more than 10 crore devotees have taken the holy dip, setting an unprecedented turnout for the Maha Kumbh festival.
