A shocking and violent incident unfolded in the town of Sanwar, about 40 km from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where a 23-year-old man, Aman Sheikh, attacked an MBA student by slashing her throat with a knife.
The horrifying incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when Sheikh, who had been persistently following and harassing the student for several days, tried to initiate a conversation. When she refused to engage, he lashed out in anger, resulting in serious injuries.
The student was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment. Authorities have assured that her condition is stable and there is no immediate danger to her life. DCC Umakant Chaudhary confirmed that she is out of danger for now.
The victim and Sheikh were classmates at the same college, and it was reported that Sheikh had been harassing the student for some time. Despite multiple warnings from the victim’s family, he continued his aggressive behavior, leading to this tragic attack. The family has accused him of stalking the student for the past three years, despite her repeated requests to stop.
This horrifying event has sparked tensions in the local community. In response, Hindu organizations called for a bandh (strike) in Sanwar on Friday, protesting the incident. However, police have since assured that the situation is now calm and under control.
