Prayagraj Road Accident: 10 Devotees Killed, 19 Injured on Maha Kumbh Journey

A tragic road accident occurred this morning on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway in Uttar Pradesh, claiming the lives of 10 devotees and leaving 19 others seriously injured. The victims were on their way to Maha Kumbh for a sacred bath when their Bolero vehicle collided with a bus near the Meja area of the highway.
The deceased were devotees from Korba district in Chhattisgarh, traveling to Prayagraj for the Sangam bath. Their Bolero crashed into a bus that was coming from Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh. Upon learning about the accident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences and directed officials to immediately provide medical assistance to the injured.
Another Tragedy Earlier This Week
Earlier this week, seven devotees from Hyderabad also lost their lives in a road accident while traveling to Maha Kumbh. Their bus collided with a truck in Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh.
Additionally, on January 29, a stampede at the Kumbh Mela led to the deaths of 30 people, out of whom 25 have been identified, according to police officer Vaibhav Krishna. More than 60 people were injured in the incident.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, is set to conclude on February 26.
