How to Update Aadhaar Online
The process can now be completed from home via UIDAI’s official website. Women don’t need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra anymore. Here’s the step-by-step guide:
- Open your browser and search for “SSUP” – the official Self Service Update Portal of UIDAI.
- Log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
- Select the Address Update option and then choose Head of Family based update.
- Enter your husband’s Aadhaar number, mobile number, and relationship details.
- Upload your marriage certificate as mandatory proof.
- Pay a ₹50 update fee online, including via UPI.
- After payment, you’ll receive a receipt with an SRN (Service Request Number). Keep it safe for future reference.
- Your husband must log in separately with his Aadhaar number and OTP to approve the request using the SRN number.
What Happens Next
Once this approval is completed, your update request is officially submitted. Within 30 days, your Aadhaar will reflect the updated details with your husband’s name. The entire process is digital, hassle-free, and secure.
