What Happened in Tiruttani

A tragic incident unfolded in P.R. Palli village of Tiruttani Union, Thiruvallur district, where a four-year-old boy named Yogith lost his life after a tablet got stuck in his throat. His parents, Velu and Shashikala, had taken him to a doctor after he developed a fever. The doctor prescribed medicines, which the parents gave him once they returned home. Unfortunately, the tablet lodged in his throat, leaving him gasping for breath.

Parents’ Desperate Efforts

Panicked, his parents immediately carried him to Tiruttani Government Hospital. Doctors rushed the child to the ICU and began treatment, but despite their efforts, Yogith could not be saved. The family’s grief turned the hospital premises into a scene of sorrow, with relatives crying uncontrollably at the loss of the young boy.

Instead, they should be crushed and mixed with water or milk to ensure safe swallowing. Doctors also warn that during illness, parents should never leave children unattended while taking medication.
