Mysuru: Social activist Snehamayi Krishna, known for his role in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has been sentenced to six months in jail in a cheque bounce case. The case dates back to 2015 when Krishna had reportedly borrowed money from Kumar, a resident of Lalithadripura on the outskirts of Mysuru. To repay the loan, she issued a check from the Merchants Co-operative Bank. However, when Kumar deposited the cheque, it bounced, leading him to file a case against Krishna. After hearing the arguments, the Third JMFC Court in Mysuru on Thursday ruled her guilty and ordered her to either repay the amount immediately or serve six months in jail. Reacting to the verdict, Krishna stated that she would continue her legal battle and appeal the decision in a higher court.
